So we try to make the smartest choices within those limits.</p><h2 id="why-we-say-intelligent-and-not-just-sustainable"><strong>Why we say &#x201C;intelligent&#x201D; and not just &#x201C;sustainable&#x201D;</strong></h2><p>We&#x2019;re careful not to jump on a &#x201C;sustainable&#x201D; material or method without looking at the bigger picture. Fleece made from recycled plastic bottles, for example, sounds like a clear win. Then researchers found that fleece sheds synthetic microfibers, tiny bits of plastic that end up in waterways and oceans.
