Can I wear Correct Toes or other toe spacers with Xero Shoes?Updated a month ago
Yes. Many of our customers wear Correct Toes and similar toe spacers with their Xero Shoes. Our wide toe box is designed to let your toes spread naturally, which is exactly what toe spacers are meant to encourage. How well they fit together depends on your foot width and the extra width the spacer adds.
Best bet: sandals
Our sandals are the easiest match because there’s nothing enclosing your toes. The Z-Trail, Z-Trek, Genesis, and Aqua Cloud all work well with toe spacers in your regular size.
Closed-toe shoes
Toe spacers can work in our closed-toe shoes too, especially in the styles with our roomiest toe boxes. A few tips:
- Consider going up a half size to make room for the spacer’s width.
- Removing the insole adds a little extra room in styles where it’s removable.
- Styles with a stretch knit or mesh upper tend to accommodate spacers better than structured leather.

Try them risk-free
Exchanges are free on US orders, so if your first size doesn’t leave enough room, it’s easy to swap. See our Exchanges & Returns page for details.
A note on toe spacers
Correct Toes and similar products are made by other companies, and we don’t sell or test them ourselves. If you’re using toe spacers for a foot condition, check with your healthcare provider about wearing them in shoes.
